Executive Board

President
Dana Oehme (she/her/hers)
Dana is a fourth-year Public Health major with an Environmental Public Health specialization. Dana joined BHR in the fall of her sophomore year, immersing herself in harm reduction through volunteer work at Safe Point, attending general body meetings, Harm Reduction Week, and other various events put on throughout the year. Previously, Dana served as the organization’s treasurer, and currently serves as president. Her favorite parts of BHR are Friday program at Safe Point and the friendships she’s gained through the organization! After graduation this Spring 2025, Dana will be staying at OSU to pursue her Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) in the College of Optometry. With work to expand accessible resources and avenues for vision care, she hopes to work with her local communities to dismantle disparities surrounding vision care.

Vice President
Laura Powers (she/her/hers)
Laura is a fourth-year Public Health major with a specialization in Public Health Sociology and minor in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Laura joined BHR in the fall of her sophomore year and also began volunteering with Safe Point through the club. Previously, she served as the Campus Training Coordinator, and currently serves as the organization’s Vice President. Her favorite part of BHR is working with the board and members to generate exciting new ideas for meetings and the club. After graduation in Spring 2025, Laura will be pursuing her MPH in Health Policy at George Washington University, hoping to continue work related to harm reduction, HIV, health insurance, access, and affordability.

Treasurer
Kylie Hayes (she/her/hers)
Kylie is a third-year Public Policy major with minors in Global Public Health and Substance Misuse & Addiction. Kylie joined BHR her freshman year and previously served as the club’s advocacy chair and is currently serving as the club’s treasurer. Her favorite part about BHR is volunteering at Safepoint on Fridays with the other “bean jars.” This fall, Kylie will be pursuing a Masters in Social Work at the University of Maryland, aiming to shape policies that improve healthcare access and reduce stigma around drug use and homelessness.

Director of Narcan Trainings
Sarah Frankel (she/her/hers)
Sarah is a fourth-year Public Policy Analysis major with a minor in Economics. Sarah joined BHR and became interested in participating in Naloxone training presentations while attending general body meetings throughout her years at Ohio State. She now serves as the Naloxone training coordinator for the 2024-2025 year, setting up and leading dozens of trainings across campus and beyond. Her favorite part of BHR is interacting with other members and promoting the club through ‘Hotdogs for Harm Reduction’ and other fun events. After graduation, Sarah plans to work in policy in Washington, D.C. and continue to volunteer with harm reduction and Naloxone organizations.

Director of Community Outreach
Nate Plant (he/him/his)
Nate is a third-year Biochemistry major with minors in Epidemiology and Statistics. Nate joined BHR as a first year and has served as the Director of Community Outreach during both the 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years. His favorite part about BHR is Harm Reduction week and helping coordinate all the fun service and social events that accompany it. In the future, Nate aims to pursue either an MD/PhD or MD/MSPH degree with a concentration in biostatistics or biomedical informatics to help develop more equitable risk and prevention models for addiction and other psychiatric conditions.

Director of Digital Media
Jaden Zelidon (he/him/his)
Jaden is a third-year Neuroscience major with minors in Global Public Health and Substance Misuse & Addiction. Jaden joined BHR as a first year student because of an interest in mental health and pharmacology, and has since found a passion for harm reduction work and advocacy to smash the stigma associated with substance use. His favorite part about BHR are the people involved and weekly volunteering at Safe Point Ohio, Columbus’ local syringe-exchange site. In the future, Jaden intends to pursue an MD/MPH degree to prioritize individualized patient-centered care and impact broader health policy to fight for health justice and transformative care.
